GEORGE A. OTTO VETERAN BUSINESS MAN DIES TODAY - George A. Otto, age 55, proprietor of a harness store in this city for many years, expired today at 3 a.m. at the family residence, 207 west Third street, following a brief illness. His health had been failing for several years, but he was up yesterday. A life-long resident of this community, Mr. Otto operated one of the oldest business places in the city, the A. Otto Harness shop. The firm has been active for 54 consecutive years, founded by Mr. Otto's grandfather and continued by his father. The business was formerly located at Thirteenth and Main streets and at Eighth and Main streets, and now is operating on north Main street across the street from the Indiana Railroad frieghthouse. The body was removed to the Baker Brothers funeral home, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Thomas Travers, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate, and burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. The body will be returned to the home tomorrow at 3 p.m. to lie in state until the funeral hour. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Myrtle Otto; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Millner, Miss Mary Otto, Miss Margaret Otto and Miss Mildred Otto, all of this city; three sons, Charles, George Jr., and Vol Otto, all of this city, and two uncles, Dr. A. E. Otto, Alexandria, and August Otto of this city.
