He was born on January 25, 1970 in Lima to Gerald Lee Golden, Sr. and Janice Lorraine Verbryke, who both preceded him in death. On August 18, 1993, he married Julie Gronas, who survives in Lima.
Gary worked for CSX Transportation as a Welder Foreman for 16 years. He was a former owner and coach of the Ohio Bulldogs semi-pro football team and the owner and head coach of the Lima Steam semi-pro football team. He also coached for the Lima Packers Little League football team. He played bass guitar in several area bands including Longshot, Phoenix, Stuffed Undies, Rapid Fire and Just Go With It. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He loved the Ohio State and Green Bay Packers football teams.
Surviving are his three children Donald James Quintana of Lakewood CO, Ashlyn Michelle Golden of Lima and Michael Gerald Golden of Lima; his two granddaughters Aubrey Rose Quintana and Aliyah Loraine Goston both of Lima; his five sisters; his eight brothers; many nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, with funeral services at 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow the services at Fisher Cemetery, Lafayette.
