Kevin Paul Corey, 50, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, July 8th in the care of his family and friends after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his wife of 27 glorious years, Carolyn A. (Morin) whom he married on St. Patrick’s Day in 1979. His children, Army Specialist Kenneth P. Corey stationed at Ft. Hood, TX and Jennifer L. Corey of Grafton who is also a graduate of Bay Path College. His parents, Roger and Katherine (Harris) Corey of Grafton, his 4 sisters, Kate Marcum and her husband Mike of Grafton, Sue Nydam and her husband Jim of Sutton, Christine Sabourin and her husband Roger of Sutton and Ginny Nelson and her husband Scott of Millbury. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Kevin was predeceased by his daughter Kristen (2005) and his brother Michael (1978) who were both lost in automobile accidents. He was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1956 in Worcester and has lived all his life in Grafton.

Kevin was a 1974 graduate of Grafton High School and a 1978 graduate of Babson College earning his BS in Accounting. He began his career in accounting 25 years ago with Carlin, Charon and Rosen LLP, formerly Goff and Cagan becoming Goff, Carlin, Cagan LLP. In 2004 Kevin was made a partner in the firm, became Chief Operating Officer soon after and was still working at the time of his passing.

Kevin was a former parishioner of St. Philips Parish and currently at St. James Parish in South Grafton. He held memberships in; The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The MA Society of Certified Public Accountants, A Past President of The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce, and a Board Member of The Worcester Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Corey was active in The Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout himself. Kevin was an enthusiastic loyal fan of The Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also organized and ran the annual Alan Goff Memorial Golf Tournament since the passing of Mr. Alan Goff, a business associate of Kevin’s.
