Born January 24, 1989 at Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Carl, Jr. and Kelly Carpenter Bergman.
Survivors include his parents Carl Jr. and Kelly Bergman of West Point, Iowa, his daughter Annie Dieckhoff, his fiancé’ Heather Whitlache of Lincoln, Nebraska, one brother Troy Bergman of West Point, Iowa, one sister Shelly Martinson of Franklin, Iowa, one nephew Ethan Martinson and one niece Vanessa Martinson. Maternal grandparents Louise and Harry Pieper of West Point, paternal grandparents Carl Sr. and Patty Bergman of Burlington, Iowa. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Ed Carpenter, paternal grandmother Helen Bullard and his brother-in-law Levi Martinson.
Eric was a concrete finisher in Nebraska. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and barbequing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter Annie, his fiancée Heather and her children.
Friends may call and meet with the family from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 23, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point with Fr. Dennis Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
