Gusta Vonda Hall, 95, of Perry, died April 12 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. April 23 at the Summerville Cemetery.
Gusta was born February 26, 1921, to Gus Vanclieve and Myrtle Alice (Nott) Fowler in Caldwell, Idaho. When she was young the family moved to Imbler, where she attended grade school. The family then moved to Perry, where she resided the rest of her life.
In April 1939, Gusta married James W. Ruth, and the marriage ended in divorce. One August 6, 1955, she married Kenneth Hall in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Gust was active in the community, serving on the school board, the voting board and the search and rescue. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, snow clubs and stock car racing blub. Gust enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing games with her family. She and Kenneth snow-birded sound for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brothers, Everett, Harold, Buck and Gus; sisters Juanita, Thelma, Dortha Vera and Berniece, and daughter, Tonieta.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jimmie and Ginger Ruth of Lincoln City, Michael and Pat Ruth of La Grande, Bunnie and Rock Barrett of Perry, Steven and Linda Ruth of Perry, Amber and Ray Myer of La Grande and Kenneth Jr. and Belinda Hall of La Grande; and 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
