Karen Lee Gulley, 58, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and the daughter of Doris Givens Gulley of Murphy and the late William (Bill) Gulley. Karen had been an associate accountant for MGM Brakes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Karen did not miss a sporting event that they were a part of. She was very crafty and enjoyed taking classes at John C. Campbell Folk School. Karen was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, John McClure and wife Kary, Dustin McClure and Amanda McClure, all of Murphy; uncle, Jimmy Givens of Balsam; and grandchildren, Tyler McClure, Ellie McClure and Emree McClure. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Chester Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Town-son-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
