St. George, March 17-Mrs. Lilly Mae (spelling? May) Barnum Leavitt Adams, 69 died in a St. George hospital Wednesday at 9 a.m. after a lingering illness. She was born March 9, 1879 at Old Hebron, Washington County, a daughter of Achel J. and Martha Ann Pulsipher Barnum. The family moved to Winterville, Nev. when she was eight years old, and she spent most of her life there. She was married to Charles Albert Leavitt in the St. George temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Nov. 15, 1893. They were parents of 13 children. Mr. Leavitt died May 17, 1929. She was married to Thomas Adams, Bunkerville, Nev. Dec. 9, 1931 in St. George. Mr. Adams died Dec. 24, 1945. For the past year Mrs. Adams has made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Huntsman, St. George. She served for nine years in the Bunkerville LDS ward primary organization and 14 years as councillor and president of Bunkerville Relief Society. Surviving are 10 sons and daughters, Achel J. Leavitt Jr., Salt Lake City, Albert Leavitt, Beaumont, Ida., Mrs. Vertie Earl, Ramby Leavitt and Mrs. Ethel Leavitt, Bunkerville, Elsie Bonafous, Reno Nev., Mrs. Eleanor Wait and Mrs. Camelia Hardy, Mesa, Ariz. and Robert Barnum, Los Angelese, Cal. 38 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Bunkerville LDS ward chapel by Vincent Leavitt, Bishop. Burial will be in the Bunkerville Cemetery, directed by Cannon Funeral Home, St. George. Published in the Salt Lake City Tribune on Thursday, March 18, 1948
