James was born in Colebrook, Ohio on June 25, 1834. James Allison (Co. B, 8th IL CAV) married Sophia A. Parkhurst (1839 - 1907) on June 6, 1860 in Kendall County, IL. He died in State Centre, Iowa on July 29, 1904. NOTE: his middle initial, according to a hand-written family record I have from 1837, gives his middle inditial as L. His parents were Joseph Allison and Mary (Polly) Hurd Allison. (note from Debra Allison, 8/5/2023).
