William (Bill) Lamb was an incredible man! He was orphaned at the age of 9 and took care of himself by working odd jobs and living in a wooden piano crate in Oregon. Later he would move south, to Arizona, and in 1931 he married Beulah Lavina Crum and they had one daughter, Craigie Laura Lamb. They made their home in Bisbee, Arizona on a hill that would eventually become part of the Lavendar Pit copper mine. When the mine bought their home they moved to South Bisbee.

Beulah had polio from the age of 2, but she and Bill had a wonderful, adventurous life together. He worked as a mechanic but would come home for lunch and to make sure Beulah and Craigie were OK.

He wanted to be sure that his family could get by without him if something happened to him, so he taught Craigie how to work on cars, fix plumbing, and do a lot of other types of things that husbands usually do.

A few years after Beulah's death in 1952, Bill's next door neighbor was burning trash and the fire got out of control, destroying both the neighbor's house and Bill's house while he was a work. At that time he moved in with Craigie, her husband, Dale Martell and their children.

On September 27, 1966 Bill was walking not far from home and was hit and killed by a drunk driver. He was survived by his daughter (Craigie) her husband (Dale) and their children (Brenda, Terry, Dona, Glen and Wendy.)
