Sharon Ladell Brummett Kell entered the world April 17, 1942, being born in the family home in Gasoline, Texas. The event of her birth during WWII, when rations on sugar and other commodities were common, made the Amarillo Globe News with the headline "What some people won't do for an extra 5lbs of sugar a month." Another Amarillo paper Headlined "New Poppa", pointing out that her 65 year old Poppa was also a 3 time great grandpa and her mother, Alpha Velmer Crenshaw Brummett was 38.
Sharon had 5 half siblings on her Poppa's side; Mary Juanita, Mabble Jo, Willie Marie, Paul Harold, and Williard Lee (stillborn). Full siblings born to her parents were Wynona ElWanda (stillborn), Billie Gene, Laquita Gay, Joy LaVon, Valerie Delores, Thomas Allen, Maxwell D., and Derl Madison
On February 7, 1958 Sharon married Nolen Frank Kell in Tulia, Tx. They were married 58 years, renewing their vows on their 25th and 50th anniversaries. Their deep love and devotion was a Godly example of what true love should be, and an inspiration to their 5 children; Sharon Nolene, Kellena Christine, Nolen Glen, Ronald Frank, and Clifford Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings, her beautiful daughter; Sharon Nolene, and a precious granddaughter; Kimberley Michelle.
She joined these loved ones in heaven at 3:23 p.m., April 15, 2016 when she departed this life quietly, with her devoted husband by her side. The previous week was filled with tender moments, memories, pictures, laughter, hugs, and tears with her family.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband Nolen, a daughter; 3 sons, 27 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, a special niece; Laquita Bernice, and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
We her family, will always cherish the precious time we had with her. We are grateful that she is no longer hurting and is resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She shared many words of wisdom with us throughout life but her departing message was "Remember – Love is what you give, not what you get."
