Cynthia Hinshaw was born in Henry County, Indiana, February 2, 1844, and died at the home of Mrs. Moss in Burwell, Nebraska, May 14, 1925, aged 81 years, 3 months and 12 days. Her girlhood days were spent in Indiana, where on Aug 31, 1862 she was married to Uriah Moorman who preceded her in death four years ago. To this union were born ten children, all but one surviving her. the sons are: C. F. and H. B. of Sask., Canada, Otis E. of Burwell and Morris, who died in infancy. The daughters are: Mrs. Mary Jane Howe, of Cozad, Nebr., Mrs. Anna Hanlon of Roseville, California, Mrs. Ethel Vinecore of Grand Island, Nebr., Mrs. Leanora Moss, Mrs. Effegene Hallock and Miss Lelia of Burwell. she is also survived by one brother and one sister out of a family of seven children, also 34 grand children and 40 great grandchildren. In 1864 she and her family moved to Baygor[?], Iowa and later to near Marshalltown. In 1887 they moved to Holt County, Nebr., settling near Swan Lake. Here they endured the hardships of pioneer life. In 1895 they moved to a farm north-east of Ord, where her home was until she was moved to Burwell to be near her daughters. Being reared in the Friends Church she remained a member of that body until coming to Ord where she united with the M. E. Church. Such is the brief history of a long and beautiful life. A life spent in the interest of her family and of others. Words are inadequate to do justice to such and it is well that we can leave such an one with the words of Solomon, "Let her works praise her within the gates." Funeral services were conducted from the home of her daughter Mrs. Moss in Burwell, Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, by Rev. Wells of the Methodist Church and the body was interred by the side of the husband and father who had gone on before in the Ord cemetery.
