Moses had one child, Alvin Waldeal Macklin with Fanny Prince Hunt of Brunswick Co., Virginia.
He has five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Moses was a WWII veteran and served in Okinawa, Japan. He was a strong willed man with a big heart. He was well known within the family and community to be ready to help in what ever way he could. Family Reunions were always held at the Macklin Home Place of Richard and Sylvia Macklin the last Sunday in August. Moses resided there until his death. He was a volunteer at the Union Bethel RZUA Church, making repairs where ever they were needed and maintaining the church cemetery. He loved flowers and took great pleasure in planting a wide variety of flowers every year. Moses was a collector of puzzles and worked on them often.
His father worked the land to raise tobacco and Moses kept that tradition until it became too much on his health. He was a "hoarder" on a small scale and in the best way. Moses saved everything and at the time of his death, it became apparent the man had compiled an amazing history on the life of his family.
