Dora G. Herrera, age 79, born in Mountainair, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at home with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Herrera is survived by her children, Linda Frias, Yolanda Bencomo and her husband, Eddie, Gilbert Herrera and his partner, Ruth Molina, Elizabeth Chávez and her husband, Louis, Gloria Esparsen and her husband, Anthony, Sandra Herrera and James Baca, sister, Oralia Candelaria and her husband, Alfredo, brothers, Leo Griego and his wife, Luz and Nick Griego and his wife, Pam, seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, her dear friend, Christine Peña, sisters-in-law, Laura Griego and Carolina Herrera, brother-in-law, Ramon Herrera and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Herrera was preceded in death by her husband, Nestor C. Herrera Sr., son, Nestor C. Herrera Jr., grandson, Leroy Jim Vaughn and granddaughter, Geli Vanessa Herrera.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1500 Arenal SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be at St. Anne Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San José de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Vaughn, Anthony Esparsen, Danny Frias, Jonathan Chávez, Brian Sena and Rigo Iguardo. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Herrera, Daniel Herrera, Lorenzo Chávez and Estevan Vaughn. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Ward and nurse, Sara Márquez.
