Evelyn Torrence Craig-Case died April 8, 2016, at age 93 while living close to her daughter and granddaughters in Richmond, Virginia.
Born May 11, 1922, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to James Ulys and Ruth Huffman Torrence, she was a graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing at Little Rock.
Evelyn and Dr. Marion S. Craig were married in 1944, living most of their years together in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their first daughter, Carolyn, died while an infant. Marion died in 1994.
Married to Robert (Bob) Case in 2000, they lived in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. She often said how blessed she was to have been married to two wonderful husbands. Robert died in 2012.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Kenneth Torrence and his wife, “Snooks.”
Evelyn is survived by her son, Dr. Andrew G. Craig (Mark Bunyan); daughter, Catherine Clinger (John); granddaughters, Sarah Fite (Tim) and Emily Clinger; and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Fite. Survivors also include her stepdaughters, Cathy (Robert) Case-Rodweller, Jane Berault, their children, Casey, James and Andrew and foster children Sharon and Richard Emmel.
Her ashes will be interred next to Marion’s in Batesville, Arkansas.
