Pamela A. Mathis, 66, of Russellville, died April 17, 2016, at Arkansas Hospice Home. She was born June 30, 1949 in Russellville, to Lemoyne "Dub" and Reba K. Martin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a retired teacher from Russellville School district, where she taught for 36 years. She had been a department head, a gifted and talented teacher and coordinator. She loved her flowers, walking, cooking and the beach. Most of all she loved being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Maxie L. Mathis Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Maxie L. Mathis III and Stephanie Mathis of Russellville; two grandsons, Brock Martin Mathis and Bowen Reed Mathis; a sister, Mona K. Ingram of Russellville; two nieces, Laura Morris and family and Johna McNally and family; and a nephew, Marty Ingram and family.

The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Roy Smith and Mr. Jerry Burns, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. The graveside service in Oakland Cemetery will be private.

Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Commerce, Russellville, AR 72801 or Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home of Russellville, 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, AR 72801.
