A retired welder/mechanic and a resident and native of St. Amant, he died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at his home. He was 70. Visiting at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jon Koehler. Entombment in Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter, Kimberly Babin, and son-in-law, Robert Hill; son, Jerry "Brother" Babin, and daughter-in-law, Juancita Babin; a sister, Betty Gore; a brother, Danny Babin; six grandchildren, Cody, Seth, Maranda, Ashley, Natasha and Ted; and four great-grandchildren, Billy, Anna, Cylie and Cayden. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Babin; father, Ancil Babin; mother, Teen Babin; and brother, Leroy Babin. Pallbearers will be Seth McKnight, Jerry Babin, Joey Broussard, Marty Savoy, Ted Melancon and Murphy Gautreau Jr.
