Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Foxworth Baptist Church, for Barbara Pickard Pittman, 74, formerly of Foxworth, who died Friday, April 15, 2016 at her residence. Interment will be in the Foxworth Cemetery. Bro. Ladell Blanton and Bro. Jeff Floyd will officiate the services. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia and Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 10:00 AM until service time at Foxworth Baptist Church.
As a longtime resident of Foxworth, she was a dedicated member of Foxworth Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a children's Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. She was a loving wife and mother that enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Barbara was preceded in death by her Father, Maurice Bernard Pickard; her Mother, Virgie Pickard Evans; and her Brother, Maurice B. Pickard, Jr.
She is survived by her Husband of 53 years, Charles L. Pittman, Sr., Hattiesburg; two Sons, Charles "Chad" Louis Pittman, II, Hattiesburg, Bart Allen Pittman (Ila), Purvis; one Sister, Gayle Ulsteen (Jan), Biloxi; three Grandchildren, Alexandra Pittman, Hattiesburg, Tripp Pittman, Purvis, Finley Pittman, Purvis,
Pallbearers will be Tim Brewer, Stan Burks, Bobby Halford, Patrick Moore, Jeff Pittman, and Mike Robinson. Honarary Pallbearers will be Justin Pittman, Mike Sanders, and Steven Sanders.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or Homes for Hope in Purvis.
