Mrs. Jemima Catherine Smith, wife of Gordon S. Smith, who resided at McKaig, died in Frederick Memorial Hospital, Thursday, November 15, 1962 at 10:30 a.m., aged 64 years.

She was the daughter of the late George and Minerva Crum Rippeon.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren.

She ran a registered foster care home for twenty-five years.

Surviving besides Mrs. Smith's husband are the following children: Mrs. Leon Crummitt, this city; Floyd S. Smith, near Libertytown; Richard A. Smith, this city; Mrs. John A. Main, near Middletown and Mrs. Harrison E. Ropp, this city. Two grandsons, Albert S. Crummitt, this city, and Charles R. Smith Jr., at home; twenty-eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

She is at the M. R. Etchison Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday until 9:30 Monday morning at which time she will be removed to the Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren, where services will be held at 11 a.m.

Interment in cemetery adjoining the church.
