He served our country proudly and was a United States ARMY Veteran, having served in Korea. He was retired from Naval Ordinance.

His wife; one daughter: Marilyn Treece (Darrell); two sons: Johnny Carl Sandlin (Darlene) and Michael Anthony Sandlin(Jessica); one brother: Frank Sandlin; one god daughter: Rosetta Devine (Jessie) Devine; eight grandchildren: Darrell Treece, Jr., Scot Treece, David Sandlin, Johnny Sandlin, Scotty Sandlin, Michael Sandlin, Jr.; Mark Sandlin and Jennifer McKercher; his honorary grandchild: Breyer Devine; eight great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
