Daughter of Zachariah Leatherman and Martha Palestine Gibson.

Mrs. Rickman at age 66, died at her home in the Cowee section Sunday at 6 p.m., following an illness of eight months. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m., at the Cowee Baptist church with the Rev. J. G. Benfield, pastor, assisted by the Rev. R. F. Mayberry, Rhodiss, and the Rev. M. E. Holden, West Mills, both former pastors, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Rickman, daughter of the late Z. M. Leatherman and Palestine Gibson, was born January 15, 1877, in Macon county. She was the widow of Roland R. Rickman. She was a member of the Cowee Baptist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. T. Fouts, Franklin RFD No. 3; Mrs. J. C. Winstead, Elm City; and Mrs. J. C. Bryson, West Mills; four sons, Joe H., West Mills, Earl, Brevard, and Carr Canton, OH; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Will Ammons, Sylva, and Mrs. Alex Ammons, Ellijay; two brothers, Dock Leatherman, Leatherman, and Solomon Leatherman, West Mills.
