Myrtle Eulela Ball was born on in Brushy Mountain Township, Wilkes County, North Carolina to James Martin Ball and Nancy Adeline (Lina) Anderson of Gilreath, North Carolina. She was the next to youngest of 10 children.

She married Henry Chester Ball of Gilreath, North Carolina on July 19, 1946 in York County, South Carolina by Judge E. Gettys Nunn.

She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an adult and was sealed to her husband for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 29, 1953. She and Henry were sealed on that date to their children Gloria, Susan and Rita, while Mike and Angela were both born into the New and Everlasting Covenant.

She gave birth to five children, Gloria, Susan, Rita, Mike and Angela, all of whom she was able to see grow to adult hood and have children of their own.

Myrtle worked for many years in Cannon Mills and retired from Fieldcrest Cannon following many years of service.

She and Henry were faithful in their church duties and attended the temple regularly until their health no longer permitted. She was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables and enjoyed quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her eldest daughter Gloria, and her husband Henry.
