Dennis was born in Waco, Texas, to the late William Boyd and Betty Marie Smith Dunn. A consummate family man, Dennis placed his priority on providing for those that he loved. As a lifetime fixture in the grocery industry, many will remember him from the years that he spent greeting customers and sharing stories from behind the counter at Douglas Food Store in Corsicana where he never met a stranger.
Dennis was an extremely intellectual man who loved to spend time reading and researching topics that drew his interest. He could hold conversation with anyone from any walk of life whether they were discussing music, history, sports, or business.
Words can’t express the love that he had for his wife and family. He spent any time that he had with them and especially enjoyed weekend getaways to Louisiana with his wife, Debbie. He was known to make three-hour round trips to watch his grandson play baseball, no matter what day of the week it was and no matter how late it meant his getting home. He would never complain about being sick, and up until his final days he was more concerned with the well being of those who came to visit him.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg and Mike Dunn; and a sister, Beverly Dunn.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Dunn, of Corsicana; sons, Matt Dunn and wife, Tina, of Rice, and Chris Dunn and wife, Christy, of Fort Worth; grandsons, Jacob Jones, of Rice, and Boston Dunn, of Fort Worth; brother, Ricky Dunn, of Bullhead City, AZ; sisters-in-law, Lorena Dunn and Sandra Dunn, of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Neil Russell and wife, Bonnie, of Weatherford; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
