SUCCUMBS AFTER YEAR’S ILLNESS
Timothy G. Hannon of 164 Oakwood av., died yesterday afternoon at his home. He was very well known and manufactured jewelry in this city for many years.
Leaving Olean, his birthplace, he came to this city when a lad and with his brother, John J. Hannon, began manufacturing jewelry. Later John withdrew from the business, but Timothy continued until his death in the same shop in the Monroe Building which he had occupied for the past 35 years. Mr. Hannon was at one time popular as an amateur actor and coached many masts for various churches and societies.
For about 30 years he was financial secretary of Branch No. 49, C. M. B. A. He was also a member of Union Council, K. of C.; the C. R. and B. A., and the Holy Name Society of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was a charter member of Branch No. 49, one of the largest branches in the Catholic Mutual Benefit Association.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hannon is survived by two daughters, one son and one brother, all of this city. They are Mrs. E. A. O’Hara, Mrs. Frank M. Shattuck, George C. Hannon and John J. Hannon. The funeral will be held from the home Monday morning, and later at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held at the home Monday morning at 9 o’clock and a half hour later at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Rev. Bishop John Grimes will officiate. Burial will be made at St. Agnes Cemetery.
