Archie Paul Reed, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie, in 2012. They were married in 1943 and have 5 children, Paula (Dale) Ingram, Connie (Dennis) Fox, both of Myrtle Creek, OR, Rosalie (Mike) Corrick San Jose, CA, Mike Reed Cathedral City, CA, and Gary Reed, Springfield, OR.
He is also survived by 5 grandchildren Derrick, Randy, John, Nathan and Rebecca, granddaughter Melissa preceded him in death in 2008. He also had 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Paul lived in the Coburg area from the time he was 6 years old, graduating from Coburg High School and working with his parents on their family owned Chula Vista Dairy for years. When it was sold in 1960 he became a cattle rancher until the ranch was sold in 1974. After that time he worked for Calef farms until retirement.
Paul was one of the earliest members of the Coburg Volunteer Fire Dept. serving from 1952 to 1987. He also was a life long member of the Coburg IOOF having joined at the age of 24.
Paul was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt in Eastern Oregon. Telling stories about his hunting trips was one of his favorite pastimes, as anyone who knew him will attest to.
A celebration of life will be held on Sat, April 30 at the Coburg IOOF Hall 2-4pm.
