Brigitte had a gentle nature and a loving heart. She left an extremely strong legacy of strength and love, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Brigitte was born April 8, 1937 in Stettin, Germany, to Fritz and Lucia Bruehn, owners of a butcher shop and sausage kitchen. She spent her childhood in the middle of WW2, living through bombings and separation from her family until they were reunited after the war in the U.S. She immigrated with her family to Santa Barbara, California when she was a teen. She worked in the grocery business for forty years. She started as a butcher and meat wrapper, and worked her way up to a high level office position and wrote ads for multiple Scolari's locations. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, cook and enjoyed doing crafts. She devoted her life to loving and supporting her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Lucia Bruehn, husband Donald Foster, sister Doris Perez, and daughter Irma Sawley. She is survived by sons: Gary (Mary) Heller of Port Angeles, Washington; Ben (Kay) Dela Cruz of Fallon, Nevada; Ray (Rhonda) Dela Cruz of Lowell, Arkansas; Terry (Stephanie) Foster of Santa Maria, California; Jeff (Tracey) Foster of Yerington, Nevada; Michael Foster of Fallon, Nevada, and daughters, Nancy (Joe) Henriques of Yerington, Nevada; Suellen (Bill) Bowles of Peru, Nebraska; Linda (Wayne) Stevens of Winnabow, North Carolina, and niece Charlotte Palacios of Santa Barbara, California. In addition, she had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 12, 2016 at Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Maria, California.
