Born on November 29, 1924 in New Boston, Michigan, she was the daughter of Herman and Lillie (Grubba) Schwartz.

On May 28, 1955 she married Robert E. Martin in St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Boston, MI.

As a child, Frieda attended and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Boston. She was a 1943 Graduate and Valedictorian of Romulus High School. She was offered a Scholarship to attend college, however she stayed home to care for her Mother who was ill.

At 16 she began a long career with Security Bank and Trust in New Boston, MI as a Bank Teller. Having taken some years off to raise her 6 children, Frieda returned to Security Bank once her children began school and then retired from the bank in 1991. She then worked for the Kmart store in Flat Rock, MI for many years as a Greeter. After retirement she enjoyed working part time at Apple Charlies, New Boston, MI.

She loved people, enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. Frieda was very generous with what she had and loved to give gifts, spend time with her family and cook for them. She loved her Magnolia tree because it blooms in many shades of pink. Frieda loved to wear pink and affectionately became known as "Grandma Pink".

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
