Shirley was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served proudly and honorably. He loved his country and was proud to be an American. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the U.S. Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. After many years working at the Bluegrass Army Depot, Shirley retired and spent his years following doing the things he loved to do, especially fishing at Lake Okeechobee, Florida. Shirley will be fondly remembered as a loving father and grandfather, honored veteran, hard-worker and loyal friend.
