Eva Halter died at the age of 99 on March 11, 2016, at her residence.

Eva was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada to Barbara and Peter Borschowa. She came to the states in 1955. Eva graduated from Mount Angel High School and attended beauty school.

She married Anton John Halter in Woodburn on Feb. 14, 1939. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, cooking and gardening, and her family was her greatest joy, priority and blessing.

Eva was a member of Catholic Daughters, Foresters and St. Paul Rodeo Association. In the later years, Eva and Tony enjoyed traveling in their motor home.

Eva always enjoyed planning family gatherings, our annual summer camp outs at some lake and especially our Christmas gatherings. What a joy and blessing to see all of our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered together in love and companionship. We have been so blessed.

Life has had its sorrows and hardships along the way, but with faith in God, many prayers and love and support of family and friends, we’ve accepted the things we cannot change.

She is survived by sons Ron (Jan) and Bill (Lia), nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Anne Woehler and brother Jerry (Joanne) Borschowa.

She was preceded in death by husband Tony of 67 years.

Funeral Mass is at 2 p.m. March 16 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment service at Belle Passi Memorial Mausoleum, Woodburn.
