Jeffrey Mark Garrison, age 53, passed away Tuesday evening, April 12, 2016, at his residence, south of Blair.

Jeff was born in Altus on January 16, 1963, to Roy William Garrison and Lynda Gayle Smith. A 1981 graduate of Altus High School, Jeff attended Cameron University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Western Oklahoma State College. While attending high school and part of his college years, Jeff worked at Osbornes, Westside Animal Clinic and United Supermarket. Jeff lived in several locations during his working years and at different times, he taught school in a special program for underprivileged youth in Arlington, Texas and was a volunteer at the sheriff’s department as a juvenile advocate. During the late 80’s, Jeff worked as a patrolman for the Altus Police Department and later as a Detective. His whole life revolved around his children whom he dearly loved. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and working with horses.

Preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, he is survived by his wife Misty Garrison of Blair; his mother, Lynda Smith, of Altus; two brothers, Bret Garrison and wife Yvonne of Lubbock, Texas and Sean Garrison and wife Nathalie of Altus; a sister, Monica Babb and husband Ivan of Altus; his children, Brittany Garrison of Cedar Park, Texas, Ashton Morales of Cedar Park, Texas, Kelsey Adkins of Houston, Texas, Jesse Garrison, Tessa Garrison and Lexie Garrison, all of Blair; his stepchildren, Kevin Pickett of Altus, Robert Pickett of Mississippi, Kimberly Garcia of Altus and Kaden Hans of Blair; his grandchildren, Aiden Jenkins, Mason Morales and Jax Jenkins, along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Lowell Tims Funeral Home with Daniel Ingram and Pastor Kevin Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims on Monday from 7 until 8 p.m.
