He was above all a loving son and brother, with an immense heart and a contagious smile that would light up a room. Evan had the gift of making everyone he met feel connected, loved and understood. He was a loyal and caring friend.
Evan's home away from home was St. Mark's Episcopal Church where he was an acolyte and he enjoyed the love and support of the St. Mark's family. Evan loved participating in any activity that would be of help to others. He especially loved not just feeding the homeless but like he said "Having the privilege of hearing their stories."
Evan attended The Acorn School in 2001. He then continued at Saint Luke's Episcopal from PK-4 to the completion of his 8th grade in 2012. Evan continued his education at St. Anthony's Catholic High School from 2012 -2014. Evan then transferred to Samuel Clemens High School where he was to graduate this coming June. Evan was planning to attend Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina this fall.
Evan was a gifted athlete. He loved participating in track and field and cross country. Evan's favorite thing was to be outdoors. He loved fishing, kayaking, exploring and anything that had to do with the beach. But above all he loved being with his family and friends and making them smile.
Evan is survived by his parents: Shawn and Rebeca Tanner; sisters Jordan Tanner and Ryan Tanner; grandfather Jorge Ferrer; grandmother Sue Tanner; grandfather Alan Tanner; aunt Shelly Loosemore; uncle Tony Tanner; numerous cousins and many wonderful friends.
At the visitation guests and friends were welcome to speak and share anything that they feel would enhance in celebrating the short, but passionate life of our beloved Evan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough. Evan's Memorial Service was Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 6:00pm, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 315 E. Pecan.
Interment was private for family.
Thank you Dan E. W (478330011) for the obituary.
