Funeral service for Mr. Virgil Delano Coleman, age 79 of Atwood, will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Latham’s Chapel Baptist Church near Medina with burial to follow in the Latham’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening from 5 – 9pm at Bodkin Funeral Home and from 12 – 2pm Friday at the church.

Mr. Coleman was a member of the Christ Chapel Church in Atwood. He was a retired farmer and a Mason. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Atwood School System and the West Carroll Special School District and he was a past Carroll County Commissioner.

Mr. Coleman is survived by 5 sons and 2 daughters; one brother; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elizabeth Cook Coleman, daughter Sharon Denise Coleman, a brother James Olin Coleman and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
