James M. Rick, 88, was a son of George and Margaret (Watt) Rick. He married Sue Ellen Mallett on December 6, 1958 at Benson Chapel.
He graduated from Morrison High School and served four years in the U. S. Navy aboard a Destroyer in the Atlantic Ocean.
After completing his service in the Navy Jim attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism.
He started work as a reporter with the Danville Commercial News and worked at the paper until his retirement. He won numerous awards as a journalist.
