Clarence David Bailey (great grandfather to me, David Margritz) was born in Springdale, Iowa. His parents were David Bailey (10-28-1836 to 7-14-1928) and Mary L. (Garrigues) Bailey (1844 to 1921). An 1880 census for Benton County, Iowa shows the following children of David & Mary Bailey: Ervin J. born 1866; Clarence born 1868; Florence born 1868; and Charlie born 1871. Clarence married Margaret T. (Henry) Bailey and they had three children: Walter E. born 1894 in Montana; Leila F. Bailey, born 1896 in Phillipsburg, Montana and Marjorie M. born 1906 in Nebraska. Leilia F. Bailey married Earl F. Margritz.
