ROSS, Mrs. Bernice - Age 84, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Genesys Health Park-Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Beach St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Ezra Tillman, Officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Ross will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Friday.

Mother Bernice “Big Sister” Ross was born December 23, 1931 in Scott, Arkansas the daughter of Georgina A. Daniel and Shelby Arrington. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a very young age at Canaan Baptist Church (Arkansas) under the leadership of Rev. J.R. Nealson. Bernice relocated to Flint in 1971 where she then became a member of Heavenly Host Church of the Harvest, under the leadership of Bishop Neal Roberson.

Mother Bernice “Big Sister” Ross leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Thelma Johnson, Betty (AC) Phillips and Doris (Dwain) Ross-Rivers; 2 sons, Floyd (Angela) Ross, Jr. and Willie Ed “Mr. Tee” Ross; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Daisy Newsome; 2 brothers, Curtis and Albert (Jeanie) Harris; a host of other relatives and friends including good friends, Mary Roman and Josephine Lawrence.

Mother Ross was preceded in death by her parents, Georgina A. Daniel and Shelby Arrington; 2 sisters, Mary Alexander and Iola Smith; brother, Nathaniel Harris.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Ezra L. Tillman and the First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church family, the Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor Ira Edwards Damascus Holy Life Church family and Genesys Health Park ICU staff, and to all our family and friends for the calls, cards and prayers during our time of bereavement.
