Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at the home she loved for 52 years in Longmont on April 10, 2016. Regina was born on March 27, 1925 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Clyde Bynum and Grace Lydia (Irminger) Urban. After graduating from high school in Kimberly, Idaho she attended Kinman Business College in Spokane, WA.

She then volunteered as a Campfire Girl’s Counselor at Coeur d’Alene, ID. She taught tennis, swimming, handi-crafts, canoeing and other outdoor skills. Her love of nature and the outdoors inspired all who knew her.

Her desire to help in the WWII effort led her to join the Cadet Nurse Corps in Ogden, UT at the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital. She described this as “the hardest but most satisfying educational time of my life.” It was also during this time that she met the love of her life, Joseph William Turner. She graduated and became an R.N. in December, 1946 and married Joe on February 14, 1947 in the LDS Temple in Logan.

After living in Utah until 1960, they moved to Pueblo, CO where Regina worked at Parkview Hospital. In 1963, they moved to Longmont, CO and she worked at the Longmont Osteopathic Hospital.

Joe and Regina loved to travel in their 5th Wheel. They especially enjoyed the time spent with numerous friends at their beautiful property in Montana.

With parents who were both teachers, she was taught the value of education and the love of reading. These values were passed on to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, and her 3 sons, her 2 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Her unconditional love and encouragement will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 200 2nd Ave., Lyons, CO with a reception to follow. Interment will be at the Ryssby Church Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Regina’s life.
