Boer Commando, held as a Prisoner of War in Green Point Camp, Cape Town during the Second Anglo Boer War 1899-1902. From Leliesvallei, Hoopstad, Orange River Colony. Died unmarried aged 23 years in the military hospital, Green Point Camp, of enteric fever (typhoid) and bronchitis. Buried at Maitland cemetery. Commemorated on a Republican Forces memorial in Maitland Cemetery, Cape Town.
