GARY STEVEN STACY, 63 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Giles “Bud” and Gertrude Sparks Stacy. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Stopover Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and drove an oil truck for Buchanan Oil for 32-years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1-Grandson: Ethan Jonathan David Stacy; 2-Brothers: Clarence and Willie Stacy; 2-Sisters: Phyllis Stanford and Dorothy Stacy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his former wife, Freida Karen Stacy, Hurley, VA; 3-Sons: Joe Stacy, Christiansburg, VA, Jason Stacy, Lebanon, VA, Jeremy Dotson, Hurley, VA; 4-Brothers: Larry Stacy (Twin Brother), Lebanon, VA, James Stacy, Hurley, VA, Bill Stacy, Ohio, Henry Stacy, Wardell, VA; 3-Sisters: Eula Mae Evans, Ohio, Retha Ratliff, Ohio, Shirley Hensley, Hurley, VA.
Also, survived by 2-Grandchildren: Destrian and Alyssa Stacy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for GARY STEVEN STACY will be conducted Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stopover Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors: Larry Rife, Tommy Conn, Otis Blankenship, Paul Dotson and Rusty Comfort officiating with burial following in the Rife Cemetery on Upper Elk Creek.
Friends may call at the Stopover Freewill Baptist Church Thursday and Friday evenings at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
