Tressie Adkins, 96, of Clay, entered into rest Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Born January 15, 1920 in Adair, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Alice (McGraw) Hamrick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband George Adkins, children, Carol McClung, Loretta Salisbury and Gayla Adkins; and three great-grandchildren.

Tressie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws, Donvil (Dorma) Adkins, Delbert (Loetta) Adkins and Damon (Joi) Adkins; daughter and sons-in-laws, Zella (Rolan) Rhodes, Shirley (Branty Jr) Rhodes, Erma (David) Scott and Kathy (Harold) Scott; twenty eight grandchildren, fifty eight great- grandchildren and twenty two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister John Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery, Dog Run. Friends may call two hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
