Mr. James “Jimmy” Leonard Lockridge, Sr, 83, of Barnsley Gardens Road, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Mr. Lockridge was born in Kingston, Georgia June 25, 1932, son of the late Leonard Otis Lockridge and Mary Eliza Kerr Lockridge. Mr. Lockridge was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Coplin; brother, Charles L. Lockridge

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Dorothy “Dot” Lockridge of Adairsville; sons and daughter-in-law, James Lockridge, Jr. and Carole Lockridge of Adairsville and Danny Lockridge of Kingston; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Bo Johnson of Adairsville; grandchildren, Donna and Mike Johnston and Josh and Kayla Lockridge; 4 great- grandchildren; brother, Wallace C. Lockridge; sisters, Lynelle and Ray Ellis and Lorene and Ronald Potts; brother-in-law, Leonard Coplin; sister-in-law, Myra Rissmiller; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Prince and Rev. Leon Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00PM until 3:00 PM. Pallbearers include Alan Moser, Ronney McStotts, Ricky Coplin, Tony McDonald, Randy Kimsey, and Bruce Potts.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
