Mary was born March 20, 1936 at home in the Black Oak Community to W.B. Robbins and Martha Jane Wilson Robbins.
She was a devout Christian, attending Beech Park Baptist, Poplar Creek Baptist, and most recently Batley Baptist Church in Marlow. Mary Ruth enjoyed teaching children's Sunday School, and singing in the choir. For nearly 20 years she served as a special education assistant to many precious children at Oliver Springs Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Howell Duncan; by her parents; by a sister, Johnnie Lee Robbins, by a brother, Bud Robbins and by a special nephew Rusty Cranmore.
Mary Ruth is survived by her daughters: Tracy Jordan and husband, Clay and Janie Hall and husband, Johnny; by grandchildren: Bradley Lambert and wife, Crystal, Jordan Lambert and wife, Kelly, Laura Mount and husband, Jonathon, and Kelsey Hall; by great-grandsons: Colton, Connor, and Corbin Lambert, J.T. Thornton and Duncan Mount; by sisters: Eva Jones, Willa Luke and husband, Charlie and Jerry Cranmore, and many nieces and nephews including Conrad Jones and wife Betty Jo.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 16, 2016 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Batley Baptist Church. The funeral will follow in the church auditorium at 2:00 pm with Rev. Luke Kidwell and Rev. Robbie Leach officiating. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
