The Virginian Pilot, February 12, 1989. Samuel J. Bongiovanni. NORFOLK – Samuel Joseph Bongiovanni, 84, of the 7600 block of Bondale Ave., a retired restaurant manager, died Feb. 11, 1989, in a hospital. Mr. Bongiovanni, a native of Lake Charles, La., retired from Davies Tavern and was a member of Holy Trinity and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Holloway Bongiovanni; a stepson, Milton K. Holloway of Bear, Del.; a sister, Sonta LaVerne, and a brother, Thomas Spuguzza, both of New Orleans.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph Slattery. Friends may join the family at the residence. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel is handling arrangements.
