David J. Plunkett, 58, of North Greenbush passed into eternal rest on February 2, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany surrounded by his loving family. Dave was the son of the late John and Anna Mae (Beauchea) Plunkett.

He was the best friend and loving husband to Kathy (Skadra) Plunkett of North Greenbush for 34 years.

Dave had been employed for 35 years at Hudson Valley Community College as the Assistant Director to the Department of Public Safety where he was the recipient of the 2013 Chancellors Award for Excellence and received honors in for his service throughout his career at Hudson Valley.

He was an avid musician and loved playing his guitar and singing. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and enjoyed playing golf in Florida as often as he could.

He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Troy. The love and passion of Dave’s life was his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his wife, Kathy, Dave is also survived by his daughter Jennifer ( William Glenning Jr.) of West Palm Beach and his son Jonathan of North Greenbush .He was the proud grandfather to Aiden David Glenning of West Palm Beach.

He also survived by his sister Erin Kepner of Schodack ,his sister – in law Kelly ( Stuart ) Moore of Lake Worth Florida and was the uncle to Brittani and Randy Kepner and Luke Moore.

Dave also leaves behind his extended family The Beaucheas ;Mary Lou, Debbie ( Matt ) Graves, Michelle ( Bill ) Plummer, Michael ( Elly ) Beauchea ,Monique Neaton and their families, as well as,The Plunkett family ; James Plunkett, Thomas J. Plunkett, Robert ( Terri ) Plunkett, Patricia Plunkett and Margaret ( Jack) McNulty .He is also survived by many cousins.

The funeral service for Dave will be held on Friday morning at 8:45 am at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third St. Troy and at 9:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church Williams Road in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4- 7PM.
