Derry Dean DeGuire, son of Fred and Georgia (Fields) DeGuire, was born August 13, 1950, in Los Angles, California. He departed this life Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in Citizens Memorial Hospital after being involved in a tragic auto accident in Bolivar, Missouri. He was sixty years old.

He was united in marriage to Diane Hicks on August 12, 1972 and they were blessed with their son, Jason. Derry made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Marshfield First Baptist Church.

He was the owner and operator of DeGuire Currier Service. For many years he also worked part-time for the Marshfield First Baptist Church as a maintenance technician and custodian. He retired from that position earlier this year and was honored by the church for his many years of service and dedication. He appreciated the fellowship with his church family.

Family was always his top priority; he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia DeGuire and his brother, Richard DeGuire.

Survivors include his wife, Diane DeGuire of the home; his son, Jason DeGuire and wife Sarah, of Marshfield; his two grandchildren, Anna and Cole; his father, Fred DeGuire, of California; nephews, Aaron, Alan, and Adam DeGuire, all of California; sister-in-law, Barbara DeGuire, of California; and other relatives and friends.

He was a wonderful husband and a loving father and grandfather. He had a kind and giving heart and was a good neighbor and friend. We celebrate his accomplishments and will cherish every memory. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touch

Services for Derry Dean DeGuire will be 10:00a.m. Saturday July 2, in First Baptist Church Marshfield, with Durwin Kicker officiating. Burial will be in Welch Cemetery, Northview, MO.Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday July 1, in the First Baptist Church, Marshfield, under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Marshfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in care of Day Funeral Home.
