WAREHAM – Anthony G. Andrews, 71, of Wareham, died March 31, 2016 in Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley (Byrd) Andrews and the son of the late Julia (Andrews) Teixeira.

He was born and raised in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School. In his younger years he used to love the city life but was always drawn back to his hometown. So when he it was time for him to settle down he knew Oakdale was going to be the place.

Mr. Andrews worked as a Supervisor at Ocean Spray Cranberry Co. for many years before retiring.

He enjoyed basketball, football and baseball was a fan of the Celtics, Spurs, Mets, Patriots and Raiders. In his younger years he loved to play basketball and was very passionate about the sport and always tried to spread his passion to everyone else. He loved his family and was always happy to strike up a conversation with people.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Byrd) Andrews; 3 sons, Leonard Washington of Fall River, Jason Andrews and Darnell Andrews both of Wareham; a daughter, Paulette Falconer of MS; a sister, June Oliver of Boston; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

His funeral will be held from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
