VIRGINIA BEACH - Russell Kilgore Price (Rusty), husband of Jennifer Owens Price (Jenny) died suddenly of cardiac arrest Monday morning, April 11, 2016. Rusty was the son of Catherine W. Price (Cathy) and Rev. John C. Price. He is the father of Kaitlyn James, John White and Addy. He was the proud grandfather of Emma Thomasson, Kaitlyn's five-year-old daughter. Rusty is also survived by his brother, Billy Kilgore of Gloucester, VA; sister, Susan Kilgore Clemmer of Raleigh, NC; and extended family. He adored his aunt, Kate Kilgore, who preceded him in death and was very close to his uncle, Kenny Kilgore, and cousin, Clay Kilgore. Rusty grew up in Newport News and Hampton, and was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Newport News. It was there where John met, married Cathy and became his Dad. In 1989, Rusty graduated from Phoebus High School where he lettered in baseball and swimming. He earned a degree in biology from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1995, where he was an avid player on VWC's lacrosse team. Upon graduation, Rusty worked at the lab for Hampton Roads Sanitation Department, and was currently working for Ward Consulting Services, a petroleum company in Newport News. Seven years ago, Rusty met the love of his life, Jenny. On October 11, 2014 they were married at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, where both are members. Rusty was passionate about life, loved his family and friends and adored his three dogs, Roxy, Apple, and Archer. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, muscle cars, action movies, and video games. He was a big Star Wars fan and an even bigger fan of Spider-Man. Visitation will be at Peninsula Funeral Home on Thursday evening, April 14, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Burial for close friends and family will be at Peninsula Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. preceding the memorial service open to all at First United Methodist Church on Friday, April 15 at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Remembrances may be made to Virginia Beach United Methodist Church or First United Methodist Church.
