KENNETH DALE FULK, age 84, of Kendallville, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mr. Fulk was born in Wawaka, Indiana on February 13, 1932 to the late Ross and Grace (Gonser) Fulk.

He graduated from Wawaka High School in 1950 where he was a basketball and track star. He entered the United States Navy during the Korean War and served his country in Navy from 1950-54. He married Phyllis J. McCoy on December 11, 1954 at the Blue River Church of the Brethren near Columbia City.

In 1983, Ken retired from International Harvestor after more than 24 years of service. He also worked for Osborn Construction, Irving Gravel, and Edy's Ice Cream in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the American Legion Post 86. Ken loved flying ultra light aircraft, gardening and yard work and puttering around the garage. He also loved fishing, woodworking, coon hunting, mushroom hunting, and riding his motorcycle. One of the highlights of his life came in 2010 when he was able to take an airplane ride in a B25 Bomber at the Kendallville Airport.

Survivors include: His wife of 61 years, Phyllis Fulk of Kendallville. Daughter, Deb and Barry Bortner of Tri Lakes near Columbia City. Daughter, Cindy and Rex Gallmeyer of Albion. Son, Rex and Tonya Fulk of Kendallville. Seven grandchildren: Mitch and Beckie Bortner of Fort Wayne; Matt and Amy Bortner of Kendallville; Drew Gallmeyer of Tri Lakes; Chelsea and Austin Brown of Wolcottville; and Brett Gallmeyer of Albion; Taylor Fulk and Kaley Fulk both of Kendallville. Nine great grandchildren: Alex Bortner, Kelsey Bortner, Jack Hollenbeck, Addy Hollenbeck, Bailea, Brianna, and Bella Bortner, Cruz Brown, and Jagg Brown. Brother, Richard and LaVorna Fulk of Rome City. Brother, Wayne and Donita Fulk of Kendallville. Sister, Tona Halsey of Kendallville. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Brady.

Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4-8:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home with visitation an hour prior to the service.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Regan Ford.

Burial with military honors will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Memorial donations may be made to Peripheral Neuropathy Foundation.

Casketbearers will be Mitch Bortner, Matt Bortner, Drew Gallmeyer, Brett Gallmeyer, Keith Thorton, Austin Brown, and Richard Kneubuhlar.

Arrangements entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.
