Robert Francis "Bob" Schenk, age 85, longtime resident of Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's and dementia, surrounded by his loving wife of over 58 years, Isabell, his sons, grandchildren and son-in-law.

Bob was born in Nauvoo, IL.

His father Joseph and mother Edna Kraft Schenk, both of Nauvoo, predeceased Bob. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Joan and Dorothy.

Bob started at 14 years old as printer's apprentice until entering the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After leaving service, he continued with a career in printing for another 50 years.

While in the USAF, Bob met and married the love of his Isabell Reichert. They enjoyed a life of devoted love and faith to each other with lots of laughter enjoyed with an extended family and friends.

They spent the last 54 years as members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart, FL where they spent years as ushers.

Bob loved family life & extensive travel. He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors androgens [?] being with nature. His patron saint was St. Francis of Assisi. Bob's life closely paralleled St Francis' life by his love of all creatures in nature. He especially loved wild birds, as part of his daily routine was to wander his property and put seeds in his many bird feeders.
