WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Evelyn M. (Rivers) Fontaine, 87, of Westfield died Sunday November 2, 2008 in a local nursing home. She was born in Orange, MA on July 28, 1921 to Henry and Marie (Hawkes) Rivers. Evelyn was a longtime resident of Westfield and was employed as a L.P. N. for the former Springfield Municipal Hospital for twenty years, retiring in 1982. She was the widow of Romeo Fontaine. She leaves her children Norman R. Racine of Wilmington, NC and William Paul Racine of Holiday, FL and Sandra Bush of Washington, NH. She also leaves a sister Arlene Dale of Greenfield, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her former husband William Racine Jr. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11AM at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service 76 Broad St. Westfield, with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
