BONITA SPRINGS, FL- Charlotte Rosemond Mourick, 93, Bonita Springs and summer resident of Morristown, NY died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sat., Jan. 18, 2014. She was stricken at her home just days prior to her death.
Graveside services will be held in Morristown, NY at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Surviving are; her husband of 72 years, Edward John Mourick; 3 daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Judith Ann) Van Arnam, Morristown and Hudson, FL, Mrs. Joseph (Charlene) Ott, Morristown and Estero, FL, Mrs. Jeff (Debra) Mitchell, Minster, OH; 5 sons, James Mourick, Mountain View, MO, Thomas Mourick, Morristown and Bonita Springs, FL, David (Barbara) Mourick, Esq., Bonita Springs, FL, Wayne (Donna) Mourick, Ft. Myers, FL, Gary (Dawn) Mourick, Sykesville, MD; a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Ferguson, Ogdensburg, NY; a sister, Doris Ferguson, Ogdensburg; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Predeceasing her was a son, Edward John Mourick, Jr., who died in 1964.
She was born on July 19, 1920, the daughter of Edward Wm. and Rachel Edith Bezanson Ferguson. A graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1938, she was first employed at Rockland State Hospital, Rockland County, NY where she met Edward J. Mourick. The couple married in June 1941 and returned to the Ogdensburg area. Mr. Mourick served in WWII and upon his honorable discharge in 1946 he returned home. The couple purchased Newton’s Lodge on State Route #37, just east of Morristown. They renamed it “The Lodge”. The Mourick’s, along with their 9 children expanded The Lodge from a Texas Hots stand to a full-scale restaurant noted for its Friday Night Fish Fry. The restaurant continued family operation until 1993 when it was sold. Mrs. Mourick continued to enjoy her summers at their camp on the St. Lawrence River.
She was an avid quilter and enjoyed many hand crafts.
