Born in Pwllheli, Gwynedd to parents William Parry, a Setts Maker from Nevin and Elizabeth Parry from Llanbedrog. In World War one he was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers (Soldier Number 262189/WR29500). He married Annie Davies in 1915. On the 1939 register he is listed as living on Massey Park, Wallasey with his occupation being a Coal Merchant.
